It’s essential you get a skin test if you have not had your hair coloured with us for 6 months or if it is the first time you are having your hair coloured with us. This is to make sure you are not allergic to any of the products we are going to be using on your hair, so that we know you will be completely safe when your hair colour is applied. Anybody can be allergic to a colour, and in the most severe cases, an allergic reaction to hair dye can result in hospitalisation.
Colour tests can be sent to your address and must be administered 48 hours before your appointment. If you have any questions about your home test our front of house team will be happy to help you. Please call 01379 650015 or email curated@gmail.com.
Please read the following steps and follow them carefully.
Wearing the disposable gloves, pour the developer (tube O) into the tube contacting the colourant (tube C) in a 1:1 mixing ratio. Mix well with the cotton bud. Use the cotton bud to apply a pea size amount of the test mixture in a thin layer on the inner side of either forearm. Re-apply 2 or 3 times allowing it to dry between each application.
Leave the test mixture applied for 45 minutes without covering or touching.
Rinse the test area with water after 45 minutes and pat dry with clean tissue. Do not use soap or scrub the area.
Wait 48 hours before proceeding with the colour service. Please show the test site to your stylist at the start of your service.
If you observe any changes from your normal skin appearance, such as itching, redness, swelling on and around the test area during the processing time, or during the following 48hrs, rinse immediately, do not use the product again and consult a doctor.
